F.A.Q.

What is push eMail?
Push eMail allows you to receive eMails on your mobile device automatically and in real-time without the need to check your eMail account manually.

Is mobiPush a hosted Microsoft® Exchange service?
No, mobiPush is not an eMail hosting service and does not use Microsoft® Exchange. Instead mobiPush uses a proprietary technology to synchronize your phone with existing IMAP and POP3 eMail accounts.

What type of devices can be used with mobiPush?
mobiPush can be used with any device that supports Microsoft® Direct Push technology, including devices running Windows Mobile and Nokia N series

What's the difference between POP and IMAP?
Post Office Protocol (POP) and IMAP are two methods used to deliver eMail. POP, downloads your eMail from a central Inbox to your computer. When you start a POP eMail program, all the mail in your inbox is transferred to your desktop computer. Once that mail is transferred, it is usually deleted from the server.

IMAP however uses a client-server model, in which your mail remains stored on the server and your eMail client is used to browse and interract with your eMail on the server.

The advantages of POP include:

   - Minimum use of connect time
   - Minimum use of server resources
   - More servers currently support POP than IMAP

On the other hand, IMAP has several advantages over POP. These include:

   - Access to your inbox from different computers and devices
   - Synchronized Read / Unread status
   - Instant change notification with servers that support the "IDLE" command
   - Faster initial download as you can download message headers only
   - Optimized for low-speed connections
   - Ability to handle very large messages

It is recommended to use the IMAP protocol with mobiPush as IMAP allows for real-time eMail notification and synchronization of read/unread status across all your eMail clients.

Do I need to install any software on my device?
No, you don't need to install any software on your device. mobiPush is compatible with the eMail client that's built-into your device.

Can I receive eMails from multiple accounts?
Yes, mobiPush allows you to receive eMails from up to 5 eMail accounts.
